Dominion Ace Snare

Loading...

Hi

I have inherited my grandads premier drum kit and in particular im interested in the snare as i know its older than the main body of the kit.

I'll say now - im not looking to sell, its something im going to pass on through the generations. Im just interested to know what I have.

Its stamped dominion ace, but the catalogue scans ive seen have the words stamped separately on the edge of the drum. My grandads snare has the name Dominion Ace stamped with the ace overlapped within the word Dominion. It also has two slots for the throw off levers but only one lever. Finally its all original. He last played professionally in the early 1960's since then its been packed away and only come out of its case on a handful of occasions.

Rest of the kit is I believe 1950's premier, single tom, bass and tenor drum. High hat is sabian, single cymbal is stamped zyildian.

1939 Dominion Ace, missing top snares mechanism. These were the newest of the levers that came out in 1939
