Yeah I been digging' these kiddies, too. I thought JD Beck was a girl....guess not.

There are a couple of new era drummers that have this new fangled technical thing they do. Louis Cole is another one and probably the master of the style....in my opinion. But yeah JD and Domi are pretty exceptional young players.

yeah, man! I love that one!

Louis Cole first came to my attention when I heard the band that he is in with a girl named Genevieve Artadi. The band is called "Knower" and they are very eclectic in there sound -often times sounding like Weather Report jamming with the Beach Boys. ;) He also does these incredible layered track things. and he also plays the heck out of a bunch of other instruments, too.

At first, I didn't know what to think of the whole thing. But, I began to explore them and all the stuff they have done individually, too. They are quite amazing. But, as you can see, both JD Beck and Louis Cole (and a few other players) have developed this strange, alternating lead hand kinda thing. It's very unusual when you really get to looking at it.

Louis Cole also plays on the fourth version of Vulfpeck's It Gets Funkier. (Which is arguably the 3rd best version, but I digress.) [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq5LMGtBmis"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq5LMGtBmis[/ame]

That being said Vulfpeck is a fantastic band that I highly recommend and Louis Cole is adjacent to them and friends with the band/has opened for them.

Al that's awesome. I'm big into Vulfpeck and have now seen them 3 times (they don't play much, but being in the NYC area means I can easily get to their annual NYC show) Jack's hilarious and he's assembled an incredible group of musicians, met them all after a show 2 years ago. I've been using Funklet for a while too, love using it to send ideas to my guitarist.
