I don't have experience selling online. I do quite a lot of buying = vintage drums - but no selling.

I also thought it might be of interest here

I have had my conga drums for sale for a while now in the buyers economy and I got this 'bite' today.

What do you think? I'm posting it here because it does look a little suspicious to me.......the wording.....the eagarness to pay full price etc..........

Gary if you google "Amanda Nelson Scam" you'll get tons of CL scam hits. Run from this one!!

Never EVER take payment from anyone via Western Union when dealing on ebay or any other auction type site. Paypal is the only way to go as they offer a degree of protection to both parties.

100% scam! Stay Away!

Funny thing is I did take money via Western Union when I sold some expensive cymbals last year. There was no way on earth it could be or would ever be a scam in that case. Because:

I got the $922 in hand....before I even shipped the cymbals. Talk about trust on the buyer's part hu.

Yes - he answered my ad - we emailed back and forth and he sent me a # to present to WU. I showed the lady behind the glass my # and I.D and BOOM - she peeled me out $922. Now that was good..........and I never did send the cymbals........kidding of course.

I have a drummer friend in Poland now....it was a great transaction all around.

But yes - I will stay clear of "Amanda."

These people are definitely getting a little more clever wih their scams. Either that or their broken English is getting better. There have actually been a couple recently where I actually gave it a second look just to make sure it wasn't legit.
