Oh my...the last time for me, and I was already on hiatus for 5 years, was the last time I saw Phil and Bobby at ZooAmp OKC in 2001 (?), so that's been 10 years+...wow, never even realized it.

Once I got married, I quit. What's so strange about this whole deal is that my wife grew up in, of all places to be a non-partaker, Tucson!!! Now most everyone in Tucson that grew up there in the 70s-90s at least tried it as kids, and she is, well, a goodie-two-shoes. Why she chose me makes absolutely no sense! I am the polar opposite of her. Maybe that was it, the bad boy/good girl thing...

I have a 17" and 19" A customs over my rack toms. A 19" Z custom over my hats. My ride is above and just to the left of my ft, almost at the same height as my crash. And a 19" stagg china to the right of that. They have to be high up because of my rototoms. I'm ever nearer my childhood fantasy kit. which is roger taylor's kit from the early 80's. Just need another floor tom, another china, and the 12" and 14" rototoms set. One day .....

Drums are loud....So play them LOUD!!!

I have to say shenanigans. Like Mike stated he uses larger cymbals on his last toms. Most of the time so do I using the very same cymbals and sizes as he Mike T stated. larger cymbals having a darker tone than the smaller sizes cymbals do. It's what ever works for you and the Musical Environment your operating in at that moment. any who that's my take on it!

Interesting I know alot of my fills end with the bass drum and snare(wierd huh)? and regardless of which drum it ends on I am headed back to the hihat so the 18 and the 16 are right there, now the 20 is more of a special accent for double crashes or one right after the other first left hand then right but i seldom come out of a fill on a floor tom and crash the 20, the 20 is so distinct and darker it is pretty much a stand alone cymbal kinda like crashing the ride..
