Dixie drums were one of the many Japanese stencil brands. Basically entry level drums.

It looks like you have found a pretty nice one. There are several guys on the forum that are experts on getting the most out of those drums and can also help date that more accurately. Enjoy!
Very proud owner of a new Blaemire Snare 6.5 x 14 made by Jerry Jenkins "Drumjinx"

Dave, That drum was made in the late 60's about 1967-69 maybe up to or should i say could have been sold sometime in 1970..The drum was made by Pearl the Dixie name was sold by Grossman in the U.S...You say that the drum is a 5x13 that is a rare size to fine i have only seen a few of these M.I.J. snares in that size...It look's to be in very good condition too..One way to tell the age is take a lug off if the lug has the bent tab's that the mounting screw goes into this would date the drum 1967,if the lug does not have the tab's then its a later one 68-69....Mikey
Mikey or whoever,
Speaking of Dixie drums, someone wants to trade a Dixie drum set for a vintage 1969 Ludwig blue sparkle floor tom that I have. The Dixie set has a bass, floor tom, side tom and snare. All things being equal as to condition, would that be a fair trade?
Thanks,
Don

Hey Don...I don't think it would be unless the trade is clearly in your favor, or the floor tom is a very common color or he coughs up a little cashola. Just my 2 pennies.

Thanks for the advice, Jonnistix, I was thinking the same. My Ludwig floor tom is a nice blue sparkle and the shell and hardware are in very good shape. I've been using it as a cocktail floor tom/bass drum in a set I play once in a while. I've attached a photo. On second thought, maybe I should keep it and not mess with trying to sell the Dixie drums.
