Disappointed in Appraisal

They're 20/12/14 with matching finish 5.5x14 snare drum.

And I realize they're worth more to me than what someone would want to pay - that's a given for me from the day I restored them. I guess my only complaint here is that one highly regarded Vintage drum collector/seller told me they were worth more than twice what my appraisal came in at.

Yes - they are only things - and things can usually be replaced. And that's all I was looking at regarding an appraisal = if the worst happened as in fire or theft - I could go out an buy another set just like mine for $2200. If that's the case then I'm happy with the appraisal.

My hihat came in topping out at $350 (Ringo's highat) and that's good. I don't think I'd have much trouble in getting other estimates for my K Zildjian Old Stamp.

Ya - I'm happy now after thinking it through. I was dreaming at the $10K price tag I thought these drums were sitting at. I'll sleep a little easier when I'm on holidays now haha.

Thanks for your input,

From olddrums

They are lovely drums, but with non original edges and replaced (albeit proper) parts is going to hurt you. Plus, you really can't factor heads into value unless they are the original heads. Also, sizes? what are they?

This post came to a good conclusion, so I'm going to lock it here.

Thanks
