Dino Danelli Clip: "Do You Feel It"

When I was learning to play drums in 1965, there was no drummer in rock who was as cool as Dino Danelli of The Rascals. He was a force of nature and a huge influence on me. Here's a clip of The Rascals playing "Do You Feel It" live on TV that well illustrates Dino's power behind his Ludwigs.

The reason I now own a set of Burgundy Sparkle Ludwigs is because of Dino.

I will also say that I have a good friend who is friends with a former member of The Rascals who supposedly has Dino's Champagne Sparkle Ludwig set in his basement. You better believe I've been trying to get him to introduce me to this guy. Enjoy.

Having come of age in the '60's I always though he was a terrific drummer and highly underrated.

Great video clip !

The (Young) Rascals were a great band ... I just loved them and wore out their first album playing it. Dino had such a unique style ... so cool just the way he moved with his power, speed, finesse and stick tricks. I always thought he was one of the best of his era.

That was a great part of your excellent book, Bob. Dino was one of my favorites to watch playing.

Bob....I just bought your book!

Dino has always been one my favorite drummers while I was learning to play in the early 1970s. My favorite set of Dinos is the Silver Sparkle Ludwigs , which I think was his first set with The Rascals. I LOVED how unique he was to mount the tom on a snare stand, but have his ride mounted on the bass drum. Traditional grip all the way......he was/is fantastic!!!!
