Did Pearl ever use a clip mount like this? I have thought my drums were pearl because of the lugs and the kick drum head that says pearl, lol. I can't find where they how any mounts like this. Other possibility is that someone put a different mount on the tom I guess.

For sure in the mid to late 60's but the diamond plate was the other way around. I've had a few sets that came out of the Pearl Factory with those tom mounts.
Keep fixing them up...

If pearl didn't have the squared mount, is it made by Star? From pics of some old catalogs I saw the diamond shape mount that you mentioned.

Nope. Star used either one of the following brackets only, but never squared or diamond shaped ones.Cheers, Ralf
So, I'm not sure if my kit is a Star or Pearl and someone just took the mount off and used the Star one on my tom... I have attached a pic of my whole kit for reference
