Dave Grohl

Did anyone happen to see Dave Grohl singing Blackbird last night on The Oscars? Definitely the high point of a very disappointing, waste of air time, my time, your time and anyone who had the misfortune of tuning in. After the opening monologue by Chris Rock, I knew it was doomed, but I'd heard Dave Grohl would be performing so I kept watching all the way to the bitter end when Leonardo DiCaprio won best actor and promptly began making a fool of himself.

That show was a total farce! My goodness, Chris Rock was out of control, when he told Slyvester Stalone his Rocky movies were like science fiction because it made white athletes look as good as black athletes, Stallone looked like he wanted to punch him out.

Thank goodness all I have is Netflix. I can't stand TV and haven't been able to for years. The only time I put cable on is when it's baseball season and The Mets are on. I'd watch more football, but unless the 49ers are having a great season, I'll maybe catch 1-4 games on cable.

Dave Grohl has always come across to me like a good dude. I remember being a kid and loving Nirvana and then when he came out with the Foo Fighters my world was blown. The drummer can sing really good and play guitar?? Nothing but respect for the man and his talents.

Ugh. That shtick gets old real fast. That's Richard Pryor late 1970s material...

Every joke Chris Rock told was aimed at the show being too "white." It was an embarrassment and unnecessary.

Interesting...I didn't feel it was an embarrassment at all. Nor did I think it was "unnecessary". To each his / her own.

I thought some of his Jokes were good but It got old really fast. What's strange I don't ever remember anyone complaining the Oscars are to White before this. I blame social media.

Of course it was "necessary". It was "necessary" to point out failures are based on skin color not principle. It's "necessary" to bash the industry that made you. Only thing it's "necessary" for is to forward an agenda!!

Agendas aren't a bad thing, last I looked. We all have them.
