Can one of you TAMA experts give me a general idea when you believe this particular kit was manufactured?

Yep... first came out around 2005 and lasted, I believe, to about 2007. The color is White Satin Haze!

Not anything close to the coveted Superstars of the late 70s - early 80s.

Birch shell with Basswood Inner Ply

Bass ran 7ply / 7mm

Toms and snare ran 6ply / 6mm

"Duracover" Wrap Finish: Dark Blue Abalone, Orange Satin Flame, Turquoise Satin Haze, White Satin Haze

Actually, a pretty good kit. Nice sounds and a really good kick. Head choice would be of paramount interest.

If that's the one in MI, looks to be in good condition and a good price.

WARNING:

If this kit is being sold by KIRK (a well known CL seller) in Detroit area - I think in like Romulus or Wayne or Dearborn or somthing like that) then be warned that he uses Steel Wool routinely and strongly defends that it is harmless. He is a really nice guy, very like-able, and perhaps a very upstanding seller, though want to warn you all that anything from him will be prone to cloudy micro-scratched chrome. He always has a good selection of some very affordable kits, which would only be a good option (given this SW issue) in certain circumstances.

I will never buy anything from him, unless it is intended for use as practice kit or for a youngster who would not care if those scratched and clouds were there. I will not buy from him for my own self though.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
