Hello,

Few days ago I bought this Premier drumkit. It consists of 24 bass drum and 14, 16 toms. I uploaded a video for you maybe someone can tell me more about this kit. It has serial numbers on badges and the lugs on 14 tom are seperate. Numbers are: bass drum is4534 14tom 4741 16floortom 13784. Also I want to know what series it was? What wood/woods were used. Etc. Everything you know is really interesting for me. Thank you for your help. Video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liGbHvBcRzQ&feature=youtu.be Sorry for crapy video.

Still photos would be better (snare throw, lugs, arms, mounts, T-rods on BD) Looks to be late 60's transition kit. Beech re-rings, mahogany shells. Putting the kit together would help get an idea on it's series.

Your premier kit is mid to late 60's kit. it should be marked in the shell saying international size.

I have a very similar Premier kit!

Of note, looks like a Ludwig tom mount on the kick.

Also my 14" tom has the double lugs a la the kick drum - although I've seen others with the single lugs before. I think that's a big hint towards dating them. I thought all the 60's era Premiers had the long, double lugs.

But I could be wrong about that.

.... err, "all the '60s Premier TOMS" I mean. THe floor toms always had single lugs.

I also have a 16" int'l sized floor tom with 8 lugs per head, and another 16" metric floor tom with 10 lugs per head! That thing is actually harder to tune too.

Nice drums, definitely late 60s.... not given the care and respect they merit by 'Martin'. The tom mount is not Premier, nor would the older hole pattern match a Premier mount of the period. Are you missing a T rod and claw for the bass drum? You didn't list the sizes. Are they 22/13/16? The Beverly snare drum is not of the same quality.

A Premier 2000 (pic below) would be just the ticket to go with, and they are generally underpriced in relation to their fine quality..... as little as $150.
