Cymbal talk........ Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I hate to bring up over talked about topics, but here I am (again) at cymbal confusion. Now that I left the hard rock band, my rudes/power crashes/ and over sized crash rides are not going to work. Last night I had my first full practice with the new country band, and I brought a few pies along to test. As one would expect, smaller crashes were really working well. I Had a Zildjian A 14" crash that fit nicely. However my 2002 16" med crash was a little to trashy and was not matched well with the 14" I guess my question is, while trying to limit my number to one ride and 3 crashes, I'm not sure what to use. any feedback welcome. for rides I think any of my 70's Zildjian A crasgh rides will be fine, I need help on matching 3 nice crashes.

thanks

don't know if this will help but my uncle used 15, 16 and 18 in. A custom crashes with a 20" A custom ride. always sounded pretty awesome. i, myself have a 16" A custom fast crash, a 16" A custom crash and a Sabbian 14" dark crash with 20" A custom ride that sounds pretty good together. my uncles set up sounds the best tho. country music is what we play too.

anyway...just an idea.

I have found the Zildjian K Dark Thin crashes to be very versatile for country, rockabilly & classic rock. I use a 16 & 18. I have also recently been using a Sabian Memphis Ride 21. I suggest listening to these for your new gig.

Hope this helps compare options.
