Cymbal Mistery - help me!

Loading...

Hi,

i found a vintage cymbal in a chain but there are no visible engravings on it. after a cleaning session i found only a light and faded black stamp.

at first sight it seems that only the first letter (a capital "P") and the last letter (a lowercase "t") can be read correctly. in the middle there may be "a" or "e" but it is very difficult to be able to read them.

the cymbal has a small attack hole compared to normal, so it could be a product of the 50s or early 60s. it looks like hand-hammered and has a particular chiseling, similar to waves.

the measure is 20 inches and the weight, unusual for me, is 1.5kg.

the sound is very particular, reminiscent of a mix between a ride and a china, a little less bright but with a persistent sound.

anyone have any idea what dish it could be? I found it in Italy but it is not certain that it is an Italian production (like UFIP - Bellotti ... etc.).

Any help or information about it is welcome, at the moment it remains a mystery to me and I am curious to know more.

Thanks in advance!

I'll second that opinion.
