I read and reread the cymbal tutorial offered by Zenstat, and I still don’t quite get it. There’s so much info, but I can’t seem to get a definitive answer.
Among a recent acquisition, I bought two cymbals that intrigue me:
The first is an 18” with a tiny, shallow stamp (first photo). There are no dots in the squiggly Ottoman ‘U.’
The second photo is of a 17” with four holes drilled in it for rivets (no rivets are present).
Both cymbals have slight keyholing, and both have a small chip missing on the edge (I think someone referred to these as “flea bites”)?
I don’t have access to a scale to weigh them.
Can anyone narrow down the era in which these were manufactured?
Thanks.
Josh
