Custom WMP wrap/ large sheet Last viewed: 1 day ago

HI folks, remember back in april, I ordered a large sheet of WMP wrap custom made to match my 70's kit? I had posted this way back when and had several people interested in buying what I had left, little did I know it would take over 5 months to make, and I forgot all those who contacted me. So, here is the bottom line, I have a 54 x 18 piece, I will post pics here of the drums that I wrapped, (6" and 8" toms) along with the sheet, I must say its the best color match possible aside from using an actual drum from the 70's.

Most New wrap is way off, this was custom made to match, so its the best option for your project. I paid $178 shipped, so I'll just charge break even for me, I used around 30% of thw wrap for my small toms, so lets figure $125, I'll throw in free shipping, in the U.S. here are the pics, G

Still available? Did you buy this as a aged (yellowed) piece or spankin new? I might be interested if it's a bit mellow yellow. Nice looking wrap too.

Yes it is, here is how things came out. I found out that drum maker makes custom pearl wrap. They actually have a color chart with hundreds of different color tint/shades you can order. My friend ordered the chart, when it came, I brought one of my drums over to his house, and we compared every chip on the chart to my orginal wmp wrap on my drum. He even had a professional painter come over who has an eye for picking out color matches. This one was really spot on to my 70's wmp, even the chip pattern is larger and more close to the original that any other wrap I've seen. and as I said, it took over 5 months to get in. Let me know if you are interested. Gary

Gary how yellowed is it if at all? Trying to match a mellow yellow 40's WMP but it might be a bit bright for me. Thanks. Glenn.

Glenn, my 70's kit has zero yellowing, it hardly left the house in 40 years, so the color tint is more greenish/blueish white, it that makes sense. it does match mine well. however if you have faded yellow, this won't work for you. the only way you can pull it off is to get a old drum and pull off the wrap, just being honest.....Gary

Thanks for the info Gary. That's what I thought but wanted to check anyway.

OH, your other option is to order the custom wrap that is closer to your yellowed wrap, you may however have to wait 5-6 months for it. but I can tell you, they can match about any color/tint shade of MPearl wrap

Yes that sounds like the way to go. Going with a custom sheet matched to my drums would be the best. I'd like to add another floor tom someday and it would be nice to have matching wrap if I needed it. Well worth the wait too. Thanks!
