Hi forum ..Im in the middle of ordering the shells for a custom biuld 12/8 14/14 18/16 5.5/14...and have been toying with the idea of inverted bearing edges on all drums so the bearing edge slopes from the inside to outside of the shell moving the 1mmbearing edge closer to the middle of the drum giving it a faster sound , i really like the concept but wonder if its a good concept why have i not seen any around ! i heard gretsch made some drums this way years ago but again i don,t know if this is reliable info .Any drum biulders with any thoughts on this?
