I've seen this before on a few thin old As that had really deep stamps...on the back of the cymbal, where the stamp is, you can make out random stamp fragments that don't line up with the front.
Any thoughts on this? Are the fragments permanently stamped into the anvil from constant use, or whatever was being used to apply the stamp?
In this pic, you can make out some Arabic script, and near the top you can read "MADE IN USA".
