I have a couple Slingerland Artist series that are in very good shape.
And in pursuit of sound I went and put an old Radio King double flange top hoop on and was pleasantly surprised with the sound difference.
I'm not sure if its the weight difference with the double flanged hoop being a noticeably heavier gauge on the brass, but the thing projected like crazy!
Very dynamic in all ranges Party!
Now it still has the triple flange on the bottom, but I'd be willing to experiment some more with putting an old RK on the bottom.
Buddy I think almost always if not always used a stickchopper hoop, certainly it's easier to get the rim shot but the fact that it is just so solid is reason enough for me.
Just thinking........FYI
