crest aristocrat '66

Loading...

Hey all,

I'm new to this forum so thanks in advance for any response!

I saw an add for a 4 piece Crest Aristocrat (1966) w/ Slingy chrome snare for $350. I know that this is a Pearl stencil kit, but could anyone tell me what quality/wood these shells are and if these drums might be worth the price?

thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex, and welcome to the forum...

That seems a bit high to me. Can you post some pictures?

With the snare, if it's a COB, sounds like a fair deal to me. The snare could be worth close to that, depending on the model. Many a drummer love a Slingy snare. But, my esteemed friend is correct, get us some pix.

I figure with the snare and zildjians the price isnt too bad, especially when I offer half of what he's asking!

My main question is do you think the drums are worth anything, considering that they have been refinished...or if they might just sound halfway decent w/ the right heads.

If those are a zils along with a Wuhan china, and a cob brass snare that looks worth it to me for sure, you could sell off the snare and cymbals for at least that.

That kit has been worked over and if it were me,i,d be nervous about that.He also has made a few mods and refers to them as ash?.Hardware is no big deal, but you need to ask yourself..what do i really need out of this deal and make your decision on that answer alone.Remember,300 bucks goes a long way today when your buying mij gear, trust me....good luckWalking
