I must be getting slow. I only just discovered that Jeff Hamilton and Stanton Moore are no longer associated as American distributors of Bosphorus cymbals. They have partnered in what, to me anyway, is a new company called Cresscent Cymbals, http://www.crescentcymbals.com/.
Here is the announcement from Stanton Moore's forum on his website: http://www.stantonmoore.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1557. According to Stanton Moore they are handmade in Istanbul, but curiously the Crescent website seems to go out of its way to avoid using the words "Istanbul", "Turkey", or Hand-made" anywhere. Strange.
Some posts I've read elsewhere also imply that Bosphorus may be having lots of difficulties. On the Borphorus website they say they have a new distributor and got rid of their previous one (Jeff Hamilton and company) due to poor distribution.
While not vintage cymbal related, I figured that a new Istanbul based maker of hand-made cymbals would be of interest.
