Can someone tell me the difference between these two types of cymbals? tone wise? dumb question of the day. I never owned one so I'd like to know
Crash vs Swish
70's Pearl Fiberglass Ivory
A Swish cymbal is essentially a longer sustained China cymbal.
LOL ,Really good luck . These Swish's are hard to really find any where .Even on Craigslist . I just gave up looking for one .Now I am looking for a Zildjian A china type now .

here is a link too one on ebay now there are two others in the same price range listed on ebay also,
I find this thread interesting because I also have no idea what the differences are between all these similarly "bent" cymbals. I have over 20 Zildjians (Rides, Crashes, Splashes and Hats), but have never felt the need for a china, swish, or trash cymbal.
I have no problem admitting my ignorance on the subject, so... why are some of these played bell-side up, while some are played inverted with the bell mounted downward?

I play my China's, well I only ever had two of 'em, whichever way keeps the leading edge of the cymbal turned down so it doesn't chew up my sticks when I blast it on the edge.
Why don't players talk about the others China types cymbals .beside the Swish . YOu have the other like a Chian type and the Pang cymbals .
Zildjian As 1970s and 1980s China's Swish's and Pangs cymbals
