This may seem like a silly question, but I recently bought a drumset, complete with hardware and cymbals for a great price. I had hoped to defray some of the cost by selling off the snare, a late 80's/early 90's 6-1/2x14 brass Yamaha. Dumbazz me does not inspect the shell, as I was far more interested in the kit, a Pearl MLX in 12/13/14/20. When I got home, there were 3 vertical hairline cracks in the shell, around the buttend side; this is where I imagine there is stress. Aw crud....it was still a great deal.

Can't post pics right now, but in theory can this shell be repaired? The drum actually sounds pretty good, but is it worth anything? Is it really just a large ashtray?
