Cracked 7 Line Dyna... any hope?

The drum is listed with a "small" crack by the throw off.. picture makes it look like about a 3/4 inch crack but you can't really tell what kind of damage made the crack.

I have a real hankering to pick up a 7 line DynaSonic but they always go well beyond my price range.

My inclination is steer clear but it is so cheap it makes it real tempting.

Could a COB drum like that be repaired with any expectation that it wouldn't look like total crap and last?

Not a Guru... just interested..

If you know someone who is very knowledgeable with a torch, you can repair it, but you would have to have it redipped in chrome, because the outside would be damaged.

JB weld might do it, but it'll definitely take away from the sound.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
