Well according to resident guru and all around expert, Steve Maxwell, he says this set is the only one of its kind in existence, and is the rarest set he has even seen, period. Of course he now owns it (what a surprise) he says its for sale, but doesn't mention a word on what type of money he is looking for, check it out for your self...

Mike C's new kit, previously owned by another Mike, is most likely a one off.
About as rare a set as one could find.
There's a doze or so Top Hat sets known, not quite as rare (but about as expensive as the Leedy set).

That would be cool investment-wise... As I wrote in my post, I don't collect drumsets but if I were to own a vintage drumset this one is the one.
Those T H & C sets have gone for big money, I brokered a TH & C set about 12-14 years ago and that was in the 20K range AND it sold for way above that later on.
It looks like the Leedy Elite vs. Ludwig DeLuxe (Black Beauty) pricing scene. Certain Leedy Elite models are rarer than L & L DeLuxes but the Ludwig BBs sell for much more...granted the L & L heavy brass shell vs. the light weight Leedy shell is a big factor and, in my humble opinion, the Leedy drums sound like poop compared to the heavy brass Ludwig shells.
Soooo, theoretically the Leedy WMP/AOTS drumset should be at a higher price than the Ludwig TH & C sets...that Leedy set was tucked away for many years and seems to be the only AOTS finish on WMP so maybe if this Leedy set gets more exposure over the years that will change.
Just my opinions.
