Costs and Covid-19

Covid concerns seems to be impacting the vintage market now. Remember when we first started to have panic attacks over the prices of Rogers 14x14 floor toms and Dynasonics? Well, the bass drums have entered the fray with the onset of our current epidemic.

Check this out. a rather normal and not too hard to find 14x20 example:

Well, demand has gone up for all kinds of hobby hardware, especially musical instruments, since quarantines and people isolating have become more popular. A lot of people reconnecting with old hobbies and plenty more just jumping in for the first time!

I don't know if demand has gone up enough to justify some of the gouging going on in the sales of vintage gear but it is still related.

Well, they can ask anything they like, but for that price, you can find a complete kit and it's not even that clean.

I agree with johnnyringo.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

+1 with the above statements! Everyone thinks they're sitting on a goldmine in respect to vintage drums. Many of the worst I've seen are for MIJ snare drums and sets with prices that are higher than many US drums! As stated above, any seller can ask whatever they want. With rare exception, the majority of these high-priced drums just don't sell.
