Coronet

I just picked up this 5 pc Coronet kit on a trade the kit is in all original condition right down to all the tension rods, the snare is what gets me its a 10 lugger and i was shocked to hear how well this snare sounded, the only down side to this kit is the wrap on the floor tom has some serious damage. Im far from a mij guru but i think this kit is from 68/70.

I would like to keep it but i have way to many kit's in my collection , so i think i will just clean it up and sell it this one , if i'm missing something and this is one that i should keep please let me know.

pics - Hard to answer you question without them. Plus - who don't WANT to see these!?!

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Are the shells the thicker ones or the thinner with re-rings?

Yeah those Pearl 10 lug snares are quite good - have a couple of them and I am astounded that nobody has picked up the Majestic one on ebay right now.

Hard to answer your question, considering that we do not know what other kits you have. But then again - only a question (whether or not to sell) is one that only you could answer. But go ahead - what else do you have (including shell type info if MIJ)

I just took the heads off they are the thick shells aprox 6 ply thick , It's a bummer about the floor tom the rest of the drums are in near mint shape.

John i will post some pics of my other Luds, Tama's, Premier's, vintage yamaha. and my snare drums.

This coronet is a cool kit, i now see why people hold mij kit's close to their hearts, so im just going to clean it put new heads and try to find a good home for it.

It's too bad you are in Canada- shipping to us down here is cost-prohibitive. Those are cool drums, and BDP is not hard to get.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. Kenwood is the first person that comes to mind. Mickey777 is the next. You see, someone will have to find some wrap to repair that, that is if that will be saved. Why not let that be you? I would seek out some replacement wrap before I sell it off. I know from experience that the color there is hard to match. BDP is easy, but matching Pearl's Charcoal Pearl is difficult, especially after 40 years. At the same time, if one would be fortunate enough to find another Pearl CP floor tom and the holes match up.......

I have one of these (Dixie) that was my first kit when I was 15. Only difference is sizes (mine is 12/14/20) and that I have battleship lugs (though same hex mounting hardware).

Best wishes to discover some way to save it - then you can save it for yourself. Not sure if I would off one of your others to make room for this one - but perhaps the decision will be easy - made by the results of your FT saving efforts.

According to the Pearl catalog, that would be a 69-72 as the 68s did not have the hex hardware yet.
