Cool Re-wrap Idea Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

Hey folks,

I saw this really cool post on Facebook and had to share it here as it made me smile a vintage drum smile:) All below and the photo was copied from a Facebook post by John Stolly in Texas.

"In response to the "re-wrap" question - I took a '72 Ludwig floortom from a previous kit that was in bad shape, cleaned all the hardware, and wrapped it with 16" heavy prints of photos of my two (now grown) sons and myself drumming over the years - for a "White Elephant" family gift exchange. Put a round piece of glass on top to make it a "table". Caused a sensation, and a heated battle for ownership!"

Have a peaceful, rhythmic day!

Brian

LOL!

The guy who did this used a extra FT, according to his post. I suspect he's gonna get some heavy family pressure to make one for everybody, but that's a lot of vintage Ludwigs to give up as an end table...IMOCool Dude

I've seen "decoupaged" drums before, using magazine cutouts, etc., but that is the first time I've seen that. That is a very cool idea for a family heirloom!

Looks interesting, but the pictures aren't very clear. Is there any way you can post a clearer picture. Thanks!

This belonged to Alan "Reni" Wren from The Stone Roses. It's a hand paint work of guitarist John Squire, quite similar to their album cover he did. I've seen it for sale few years ago on uk eBay

Yeah, I still can't quite make out what the artwork on his drum is. What is it? Is it abstract art or a collage?

That's really cool.Walking I loved the Stone Roses! Saw them in the early '90's I think, but that was before I was interested in vintage drums so didn't think to look at the kit.

Thanks for sharing.
