Cool old receipt

recently found the original receipt to my first good set...Slingerland Red Tiger pearl 22, 13, 16 with a Rogers Chrome Dynasonic. If it's hard to see, it's dated June '73. The list on the chrome Dyna was $165, the Slingerland stuff a la carte was another $435. (Bass, tom, FT, tom holder, spurs, snare stand. The discount was 40% so the total was $360.

Still have the set and snare.

The next receipt is for the 10 x 14 concert tom I add later on...net about $50, and the hang tag.

A year later I ordered some more concert toms...Slingerland sent me a letter saying the red tiger was discontinued; they recommended solid red. I never got them.

In 1980 I traded the 10 x 14 to a music store in Tucson that had a red tiger set, for their 8 x 12 .

That's really neat.

I found a few 70's - 80's receipts from various local dealers

in a Rogers Supreme Hi-Hat manual a while back and

it really tripped me down memory lane.

Written in longhand, I remember how exciting it was to

lust after a new Slingerland kit or ( whoa! ) a second crash.

Not the same as a GC or the internet, 'ya know?
