Three hundred-fifty of us could pitch in $200 each, set 'um up at my place, and everyone could drop by for one day per year to play them..
Works for me!!!

Hurting ME ME ME! Excited
Ya know, I am a lot more centrally located....It would be a lot easier for everyone to get to my place, and think about this: There would not be that 300 shipping bill either, as it is only 4 minutes down the road for me to run pick them up. And we could actually put them under the protection of the non-profit I am setting up....SO, whadda ya think?
As long as I can record on those tubs on my day, I'm in. I want some of that magic to rub off on me.
Only if I get to paint them fluorescent orange........ :DEye Ball:D
OK, I stopped in today to look. They are there, and just as pictured. He also has another set of JRs, some Yammies that go up after these are gone, WMP "JR Custom Recording" rig. The Gretsch set was his studio rig for the longest, then he retired those for the Yammies. They are now in the shop and looking very nice. Good thing I'm broke, or they would be in my house, or bedroom, or somewhere...nice stuff. Me and the boy will go over on Sat to have pix taken sitting at the steering wheel, maybe something magic will rub off on us as well.
James says they are expecting to get to the reserve, no problem. I DID NOT ASK, only because I think it would be tacky...maybe tomorrow...last time I looked, they were at 26K+
I find this whole thread rather comical........maybe I should get my name in Modern Drummer so I can ask ludicrous money for all of my equipment! Hmmmm
Even if i had the money, there is NO WAY I would spend it on any kit, no matter who owned it! It could be Ringo's ACTUAL drums from the Beatles, Spending ludicrous money on them is foolish since you can only look at them, there's no way you could ever play them, and if you did they wouldn't magically make you sound like Ringo!
Amen and amen. I absolutely agree. I am currently playing an old set of Larry Londin's hats. I had one of his kits and this is what I kept. There is NO reason for these prices. Krupas kit was one I bid on but it got stupid real quick. I didn't err. Stupid was the correct word.
Funny Post
Now guys, c'mon! Let's all just throw a couple hund....OK, I am just kidding about ever thinking there is any reason to pay that kind of money for any kind of drums.Keep on Pl But wouldn't it be cool to just have that kind of history, all those albums behind the kit sitting in your studio? band2Just imagine for a minute..flowers2..we're imagining now....sitting on the beach watchin' all the gir...oh. sorry, wrong fantasy....
My cover article in modern drummer is coming out soon, so I can ask this kind of money for my kits right? Laughing H
