Jeff, You leave tooth picks on either end of the separation to keep it from closing. After spreading the cement around, and let dry (yellow), remove tooth picks and clamp it. you wont get premium full coverage but what will catch should be plenty to hold. The thinner that stuff goes on, the better it holds.
