Cocktail Kit

Loading...

I have numerous vintage drum kits. Most I restored. I still have a 1968 Keystone hollywood skyblue pearl kit I havent touched, because I every time I think about them, my eyes star leaking and my heart aches. BUt I do have tons of drum kits and snares and orphans. I want to build a cocktail kit. Ive built small kits. I have tons of brackets and hardware and 13-14-16-18-20' floor toms. Have 6-8-10-12-13-14-15-16" toms, I have 10-12-13-14-15" snare drums. I have Zildjain out the ass as well as Sabain. 13" -22". I have plenty of pedals that will work bass ackwards.

What are the perfect sizes for a cocktail kit as far as sound, mobility, but most important "not defacing a single vintage drum.

I've made a few using 16X16 floor toms. The height comes out perfect for a sit-down Cocktail kit but if you want it stand up, you'd have to attach the snare or "floor tom" over top of the "bass/tom"

I would attach 8 & 10 rack toms and a 10" snare if it was me.

I have a 18" and 20", 14" and several 16" floor toms. 16" seems perfect. I have a early 60's Keyston non serial # Luddy 3 ply WMP floor tom. Its perfect i think

as long as I dont have to drill any holes

I have a pearl forum 16" floor tom.

I was thinking one tom. The whole idea is to have a very lightweight easy to haul and set up kit.
