COB Supra Owners please . . .

I am waiting on Puresounds to be stocked locally (I'm in Sydney Australia) so I'm reduced to cutting down Pearl wires with a Dremel. Standard wires seem too wide and buzzy for my keystone Supra. The cut-downs sound ok, but still not snappy. The original ancient Ludwig wires are really out of shape, but to my ears still seem tighter than the Dremeled jobs.

My bronze 80's Supra is really tight and articulate in the snare dept. Can I ask - who has a "snappy supra" and what snares or other voodoo can you recommend?

Can you believe that I can't even get Ludwig snare wires here?

Been just using the cheapo generic wires and they sound great! CS Ambo coated top, Ambo snare bottom.Medium low tuning, classic R&B band. Mine's a 20's NOB Pioneer, should be about the same. Used it for a couple lessons w/ Kenny Aronoff, and he raved about it.

Aloha, Bill D.
