Clubdate floortom how can I save this?

Can you get the SS wrap back on the 12 and 20 shells? Or a full rewrap of the kit?

No I used a heat gun on the 12" and 20"

the wrap looked like a wet towel when I was done.

Also there were the big holes from the mounts I intalled.

I have ordered SS wrap for all of the drums from precision.

I'm sure when I put a newly wrapped shell next to an original the color will stand out.

That is the case with the Rogers kit my friend has - BD and FT are original SS but tom is re-wrapped. You can see the difference, but not always; it depends on where you're standing in relation to the kit and also lighting. In other words, nobody will notice! :)

[edit] Did you attempt the outer mahogany ply removal of the floor tom yet?

Mitch[/QUOTE]

I tried removing some of the mahogany with a putty knife, like jccabinets showed but with very little success. I'm going to give it another go tomorrow.

I'd much rather tear off what little is left of the outer ply and put one back on. I don't belive a layer of putty or gouge filler will help the resonance that 3ply clubbies are known for.

I've already ordered the silver sparkle for my '64 clubdate.

I actually plan on rewraping the WMP and giving it to my brother of his birthday. (We are both drummers)

That's a great present for your brother! I think he might just appreciate that...!

Yeah I wouldn't want that much filler between the shell and wrap just waiting to shrink and crack or whatever. Best to get that ply off. Our thoughts are with you on that lonely trail. :)
