Club Date Sound

Loading...

I happened upon this clip the other day and was pleasantly surprised how nice a sound was coming from the Ludwig Club Date drums. I always liked Gary Peterson's recorded sound, but in this particular setting, the stage kit had a great sound. Does anyone know if this was a kit of his or just one supplied by the show masters? The other facet of interest is how nice the WMP looks on that kit.

Short into by Johnny Cash.

Gary is the only original member playing with the touring band. Saw them about 8 years ago.

Nice sound. It never ceases to amaze me how good some of the old recordings sounded. And Ludwig drums always sound good to me -when they are tuned properly.
