Cleaning Dust from Lacquer Finish

Loading...

Hi Guys and Gals

I have a set of Tama Starclassics with a lacquer finish that has accumulated a thick layer of dust over the years (that's it, just dust).

I was thinking of wiping the drums with damp terry cloth rags but thought this process might leave surface scratches on the lacquer finish.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove the dust without scratching the finish - or am I worrying too much?

Thanks!

I hope you're worrying too much. If the lacquer can't stand a wipedown, it's not much of a finish.

That said, you could get most of the dust off before wiping by blasting it with canned air.

Try Swiffer cloths or their feather duster...They produce static electricity to attract the dust...I`m quite happy with the results...

Cheers

Same way you'd clean the dust off furniture.

Hit them outdoors with an air compressor nozzle blast, then a swifter cloth
