Cleaning and refinishing the inside of a tom?

Loading...

I acquired a three ply with r-rings maple shell Ludwig tom, that is very dirty inside, and a little rough on the bearing edge, from having the head left off for a long time. What is the best way to clean it and what would I use to refinish the inside, if I were to sand it to clean it up? Thanks Donny B

Tung oil on the inside..from what I hear works well after sanding...

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Thank you for your reply. I though Ludwig used a varnish on the inside of clear maple shells. I was trying to find out what kind to use. Thanks Donny B
