i have had very good luck with rubbing compound med grit with a sponge /rag, it takes of all black marks out and does not damage head so i would not say this if i had not tried everything else, then white wall tire renewal/cleaner for final as long as no dents and color is solid u have like new heads.....

I have had excellent results using Bon Ami or Barkeepers friend, a stiff nylon scrub brush and warm water. I sprinkle some on the head and rinse the brush in warm water then scrub scrub in a circular motion. They will look brand new.

Re: Everplay heads - I have several coated Everplay heads from 60s... just for the record.

On one of the heads, someone had written a couple of words with a marker pen. Guess there is not a chance of ever removing that. Or is there?

Whether Everplays are coated or not depends on when they were made. The older ones I have had were hazy but I also have had coated and a sort of smooth white. They eventually came out as Premier heads and I have some of those coated, as well. I had one that said Everplay, made in Taiwan by Remo. There are at least 4 different logos on them and they are both rectangular in shape as well as elliptical----some just say Everplay and some say Everplay Extra.

I read somewhere on this forum that the early Everplays were not Mylar but I can't remember what the film they were made of was. I have also read that some of the modern Everplays were made by Remo in Mexico???

OK... So, I have two of the 12" pre-int'l Everplay heads, both hazy. It is an older Everplay logo. Hence, those years, and, perhaps particularly because they are pre-int'l which would help to date them, would have been available/manufactured only hazy?

I have only seen those except for bass drum heads which are coated-----possibly on the inside?

Hi, I'm resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone knows how thick vintage Everplay Extras were? I've read they were thinner than Ambassadors, similar to Diplomats, but I haven't found anything definitive.
