Clean bass drum beaters?

Loading...

I'm a big fan of Oxi-Clean. Gets whites whiter than bleach without the stank and harmful effects of bleach.

Maybe try some Oxi-Clean in the next load (or the dollar store equivalent).

Has anyone found a good way to clean bass beater heads? It's vexing when I have a nice, restored pedal, with a beater that is discolored, dirty, stained - and one time smelling of Bad Things.I haven't tried tossing them in the washing machine. It might be wise to wait until I'm home alone to try it ....Anyone have any luck?

My go to is SHOUT. Spray it on. Let it sit for 3-4 minutes. Scrub with a "soft" toothbrush for a few minutes and give it a good rinse. Repeat if necessary. After the rinse, use a bath towel and keep squeezing the felt all around until you've wicked away almost all the water. Then completely dry with a hair dryer on medium heat. Drying it this way doesn't make the felt rock hard.
