From Dan Boucher

Nice photo. He looks like a happy guy. Nice that you were able to meet him and have a good conversation.I also see what appears to be a nice Rogers in black diamond pearl. Was that the big sale?

Thanks Dan. I traded that for a Rogers Fullerton Era Bop Kit, which I started a new thread about.

I dunno....some nice stuff, I guess. What's with the miniature Slingerland kits? Never saw those before.EDIT: nvm -camera angle...

Lots of gray hair in that "crowd". ;) I suppose this is understandable considering we are jusssst now starting to come out from under the pandemic. But, still.... I wonder how much of that stuff, that was for sale, actually sold. Seemed like most of the really cool stuff was for display only.

Nice music overdubbed for the video. I'll probably watch it a few more times. I appreciate the post. Thanks for sharing!

Great updates. Thanks very much. So much to want. Some interesting new ideas on snare drum too with the divider panels of panel up near the batter head. It would have been interesting to talk to the folks that developed those. Lots of cool Rogers kits!

That's pretty interesting. A new twist on the Leedy & Ludwig knob tension system.

I've seen this design a couple different times...Paige Drums (I think) did a similar thing with the cable idea.

Yes, a neat idea...but I see some drawbacks...What if the cable breaks? The entire drum is rendered useless...right? What if the cable stretches and deforms over time? Will it limit the tuning range? I would like to see a demo of what a head change looks like.

Is the sound dramatically improved? I didn't think so. They sounded a bit more open, maybe...but any Gretsch or Camco kit sounds better (to me).

That said...I like them. I'm always a sucker for unusual designs and people who are trying to find ways to reinvent the wheel - whether completely successful or not.

Rope tension marching drums have been re-invented.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
