My buddy made this snare out of parts he had laying around, he has less than $30 in it, and it looks like a Brass DW, not a great pic, but when a great job he did. he tells me it sounds fantastic to.

wood shell, the wrap is roof flashing from home depot.......... it comes in brass and sliver, he did a whole kit with it last year, it was amazing...I cant get him to join the forum, he has the nack for working on drums

That's really nice. He sure has talent building drums. Hey it would be cool if he joined up here. The whole kit he wrapped like this is there any pictures? Would love to see em if so.
