Champagne Sparkle For Rogers Bass Drum - HELP!!!

Loading...

People

I'm trying to get hold of some Champagne sparkle covering to re-cover a vintage Rogers bass drum (22"x14"). I've had a look at a couple of drum supply sites and the feedback I keep getting is that Champagne is no longer available. The bass drum covering had oxidised to a green colour (it had been left outdoors! - unbelievable but true!). The bass drum is part of a kit (16" Floor tom and a 13" rack tom) which is OK and doesn't need stripping/re-covering.

Does anybody know where I could get hold of any Cahampagne sparkle covering?

Regards

Giles.

Well I see that http://www.jamminsam.com/champagne_pink_on_drums_1.htm carries a champagne wrap.

And I noticed a least one drum company that offers a golder champagne kit.

http://canopususa.com/products.htm I'm sure there must be others.. you might trying looking for new kits that are a close color match and then contacting the manufacturer directly to see who their supplier is.

Is this kind of close... http://www.precisiondrum.com/Bermuda_Sand_s.jpg

Here's a shot.. http://www.thisolddrum.com/thisolddrum/finishes.htm

Just tossing ideas... don't know if it's any help.

All the drum covering supply places sell the same wrap...it comes from Delmar.

The bermuda sand, or champagne sparkle they sell is pinker than the original that Rogers (and Ludwig and Slingerland etc.) sold.

DW and Gretsch have recently had some similar finishes done...they won't sell sheets. You can have Delmar make it for your, but you'd have to order a few hundred sheets.

Someone at drumforum.org has recently found some old champagne stock and was selling sheets of it. Search there for the topic and you may find it. He was also selling some of it on ebay...

Maybe check your local custom car painting shop and see if they can lay down the matching color with some sparkles in it...
