CCR Born On The Bayou>< Live!!

From MastroSnare

To me it looked like the drummer was driving John nuts at the first - seems like John is feeling it faster and giving him the "C'mon man" vibe. The ol' tube amp tremolo strikes again. Those are funny, I have one on an Alamo amp and it's fun to mess with.Mixolydian tunes always sound funny. Ode to Billy Joe, Lime in the Coconut, the subtonic gives it a sick vibe.I didn't know that was Fogerty's favorite CCR tune. I remember being happy when I heard Paul McCartney say that "Maybe I'm Amazed" was, he thought, his best tune, 'cause I always did. And how bizarre that after the Paul and John write what is possibly their best work (John with "Imagine") after the Fab Four break up.

MastroSnare, don't forget John uses Kustom amps and they are transistior, not tube, so I'm not sure if that's tube tremo or not?

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Ya, it's hard to say what they ended up using in the studio. You don't hear tremolo much anymore.

Here's a fun one... at 2:10 when he does his solo and jumps up and down is one of the funniest+coolest things I've ever seen. That energy will keep you young!

I read an interview with Doug Clifford and regarding the 18" hi hats, he said "the smaller sizes just didn't cut through the amplification back then..."

I moved from 14" to 15" after that...18" seemed a bit much, though.

And, from the same interview... "Be musical. Don't be a drum machine or a metronome. Find the beat; there are times when you should be right before, times when you're on the beat, and there are times when you should be ahead." (He says he learned that from Al Jackson Jr.)

Sweet video!

I've got 14" soundedge hats and 15" 602's regular hats they are not loud at all,I certainly can understand cosmo going to larger hats er cymbals to cut thru the wall of sound behind him!

Mastrosnare it is transistor tremolo off his Kustom amps that he's using!! got this from a vintage guitar magazine Interview with john Fogerty.
