Carmine Appice and Big Ludwigs

Yes Wayne, his ego may have run right up there with Buddy Rich! Or what is the Bonham quote someone uses as a tag line here?: You need a drummer like me. Bowing

Still, the theatrics were amazing and done with a great deal of skill and knowledge of the basic rudiments of drumming.

Dan all three drummers you referenced were pioneers their egos are a part of that ability to do what they did. Carmine was the first in many fields he was the first to play that style in rock with big drums he was the first to write his own drum book. also a song writer. some call it ego I call it confidence.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

IMO, Carmine's playing with VF far outweighed anything he did with Rod Stewart.

He co-wrote it..I believe,along with Hot Legs...

Rod HATED Carmine I recall...used to call him "The dentist" - too many fill ins"!

Rod would turn around onstage (with his back to the audience)...and tap his teeth even..I read...

"Always make sure your front bottom BD lugs clear the ground!"

I think he was also fired by Ozzie as he considered Carmine to be upstaging his show, banging a gong with his head, etc.None the less...an amazing showman for sure!

I was wrong it was Rod who said that...
Rod Stewart has said of you, "Never trust a drummer with his name on the bass drum." He also gave you the nickname "The Dentist - too many fill-ins." Do those kinds of things bother you? Does that make you mad?
