Carlton early 60's ?

CARLTON four-piece shell pack circa early 1960s in original blue wave finish, comprising 12 x 8in rack tom, 16 x 16in floor tom , 20 x 12in bass drum and 14 x 5in snare drum.

I think possibly a rare example of vintage English drum making by John E.Dallas but cannot find out the year?

any ideas please?

Hi Calfskin,

Long time and nice to hear from you mate,

Yeah the snare is parrellel and the rack tom stand was on the sellers ludwig snare stand-i didnt manage to get this bit!!!!

Come to the conclusion early 60's, the rack tom mount arm is very unusual and fiddly to attach also!!

Thanks again

wasn't quite clear on that answer but what i got was that the rack tom stand was part of the sellers gear and was for a Ludwig snare?------i have a very similar stand----has tubular legs(unusual) with really honking big feet that rotate around on the legs if you don't sdhere them----the wingnuts have extra long necks with substantial wings . it is offset and the threads are all acme--very unusual for drum hardware. my version is nickel but it is from the 80's at least---they switched to chrome. it is Russian; check out the thread on Soviet Drums . there is a picture of the stand ---with a green perloid kit.----unless the Russians completely copied someone elses design. never seen any drum hardware with acme threads!

the kit is a beaute ---i will get to posting my stuff----did you ever find a cymbal arm?
