Strainer and stand reads 'MADE IN JAPAN' and those are the only things marked. No badges or stamps. Any info would be great since I'd like to sell this on eBay.

This is a Pearl "stencil". It is a low end Made In Japan copy oif an American drum. These are from the 60s with that strainer. Are you selling it, looking at it or did it come with something you bought?

Hello, yes, I am planning on selling it on eBay but I want to get all the information I can before I do. I came across this drum at a flea market for twenty dollars. It has a stand included and a Ludwig case.

Sorry for the late bump. That drum looks almost exactly like my Whitehall snare. Same strainer and same lugs as far as I can tell. I suppose it's still in the stencil family so the actual name may not mean much.

mostly these were slingerland copies in the 50's and 60's with really dreadfull copies of sticksaver rims. sometime later , into the early 70's----possibly the late 60's the rims were changed to a triple flange (i never knew why that is the name?---most contoured rims have triple flanges---they just go in a different direction);anyway this drum has a rim that flares out, similar to almost all of the MIJ drums that i have been around from the 70's, knobs are the same as Whitehall drums(Pearl) I have too, so it looks like an early 70's drum to me. the 60's stands were thin copies of Slingerland as well---flat based with a pronounced chromed white metal crown. this one may slide down into a flat based profile too but more in the Ludwig style. you could get more than 50 if someone really needs a case.
