Help
Can any one tell me more about this drum. Measures 16.5 inches x 13 inch tall I'm color blind is it green sparkle?
Is it between 1962 and 1968. Is it actually a rogers?
Is it a floor tom?
Does it have any value?
Thanks a lot

Marching snare, probably has a "Tower" label inside, due to the single lugs. As far a value, these guys can tell you but I would think not as desirable, so less than one would think.
Auctionco - PM sent to you.
Rich is correct, and mid 60's looks right. Pretty sure Rogers only put the drum key holder on the marching drums, which yours shows. But I don't see evidence of a strainer, so perhaps a marching tenor tom?

Yep, marching tenor. Not a big market for it, but between the hoops, lugs, tone control, and clean original Rogers head, you've easily got $100 in parts there.

It could be easily converted to a floor tom if you need one in that finish.
I'd keep it for that "fat snare sound" in studio.. These tenor snare drums sound great when recorded properly. I'm sure it would sound nice and warm, with a big old "fat sound". Or get a bombastic snare sound tuned up a little higher..;)
An update to this drum. Paper label says CAMBRIDGE.
Is there a unofficial good better best of these Rogers drums and how would the Cambridge fit in
I added a couple photos
Thanks

Well, that's really strange and makes no sense... a Cambridge marching tenor with a Cleveland label on a speckled interior with Fullerton or Dayton hardware (white felt tone control). None of that makes sense, but strange labeling anomalies came off the Rogers assembly line. That's the first Cleveland label I've seen on a speckled interior (Cleveland era had solid gray interiors). And your drum looks brand-spanking new. Very nice.
Where does the Cambridge model fall in terms of quality? Here's the ranking of the parade models from higher quality to lower or "budget" quality: Dynasonic, Powertone, Cambridge, Concord, Pageant, Newport.
I see you have this drum listed on eBay. Good luck with your sale.
Mike
sold already. bummer. I needed the parts, but not the shell. I'm sure there's a green sparkle kit that's starting to come together somewhere. Likely with a 26" kick to boot.
