Since we`re being honest here,

All I ever played was a late 60`s 16" A, and a B20 ride cuz I can`t really afford things with kids. So, that one in the sound file above has an indentical clang and stick sound to it compared to my 16 "A. The wash and bell although sound much different, on the better side for me. I am by no means a cymbal expert but I gotta ask ya one curious question Matt, about the latheing, How thin is the metal on the first lathe line where the bell meets the flat, and is it thinner than the rest of the flat latheing and bell latheing ? I ask because I got this crazy notion that the K Zildjian`s are thinned out just at that spot and is why you don`t hear bell when hitting the flat like you can barely hear with an A no matter where you strike.

I know it`s probably a stupid question but I`m curious about the silly notion I got the one time I actually held and played a K !!
