Can anyone ID this drum set?

from the photo of a friend back in 1989, who, I suspect was sharing someone else’s drum kit at a gig - He posted this photo on social media but doesn’t know what brand of drums these are - web searching has come up empty.

I should have known to search the forum FIRST for fiberglass drums - O-Lugs mentioned Zickos Supersonics in a “prototype” thread, and a simple search for those provided the answer. — I KNEW someone here would know. Once again, the VDF RULES and ROCKS IT!!!

Nice Supersonic kit! That's the only single-head toms I've ever seen in the Supersonic line. As I understand it, there were only a small number of prototype kits that were built during a period of time when the "real" Zickos sold the name to another entity.....and then bought it back a few years later. As I recall the work was done at a fiberglass boat building company. The kit I had, were double head drums. The toms looked like mixing bowls -smaller diameter bottom head and larger diameter batter head. The bass drum was similar to the one in that picture, above. There were two or three different ways the shells were built. One of the resins used in the fiberglass, was amber color and the other was green. One style had smooth sanded interiors and others were more rough. Some were very thick and heavy and others were thin and relatively light. All of the bearing edges on my old kit were horrible -worst I've ever seen.....not even edges...more like ridges! They were very loud and most of the original prototypes had blue, Evans Hydrolic heads to tame down some of the ring.

I sold them all except for the "marshmallow"/space capsule/washing machine bass drum! If I set it on-end and play it like a big surdo with a mallet, it sounds pretty cool! Always like their extra-cool lug design with the pivots, too.

I should also add that I recall they were all white, gel-coat painted exteriors. I have seen a picture of a Supersonic kit that someone painted bright green!
