Can anyone help me identify this piccolo snare?

Loading...

I have a piccolo snare that needs restoration, it is 14x2, single tension, ten lugs, needs a new top hoop i think and snare wires and heads. It has a light wooden shell that is wrapped, no identifying markings inside the shell.

I would appreciate any information and opinions and advice on the drum and restoration, thanks a lot.

Appears to be a hybrid drum made up of 50s/60s Premier die-cast batter and snare side hoops, probably Premier or Beverley tension rods in a 'single tension' improvised style setup employing inverted aluminum Premier threaded lug nut receivers below the snare hoop eyelets to receive the tension rods, all combined with a vintage marching shell of unknown origin. Because the top hoop appears to have been drilled through in two places horizontally it is likely that an older style vintage marching sling mount was once attached. The strainer is unclear in the photo but possibly a single post 'stick' strainer of the style once seen on Sonor teardrop era snare drums. The brass knob extension on the rear of the shell is a butt side attachment for the snares of the style once common on old marching snare drums. Because the drum appears to be an improvised hybrid I don't know what can be done to "restore" it other than thorough cleaning, replacement of a missing tension rod, new heads and snares if necessary, and reassembly.

The shell is probably from a Broadway 500, the snare throw certainly looks the same.
