I have a Hoshino kit in this same finish. Looks very nice, (not as rich a pearl as the biggies) though personally I've found the Hoshino shell quality to be lower end MIJ. Can still sound great, but don't expect miracles. Cool to find with both inlaid bass hoops. Not sure how price translates though.

is it a Hoshino? The saler says in the add he is not sure about the brand!

The large-ish lugs,unique spur mounts and large threaded bass T-rods point to Hoshino. That is a very original set. I agree with the statement regarding build quality-the shells are very splintery. And the lug metal is prone to breakage.
OK, thank you! The wrap looks class. Splintery wood is because of the luan shells?
It looks like the wrap is in good shape and the kit very original, but I agree with the others that the quality is poor compared to say a Pearl or Star kit from the same period. I fixed up this kit for a young drummer who was just starting out. Good for a 10 year old but that's about it. The wrap was quite badly faded compared to the one you're looking at.
